- Abstract
- his study aims to explore the core competencies and self-perceptions of non-native Korean language teachers. Using Q methodology, it analyzes the discrepancy between the teachers' self-perception and their ideal core competencies. The research identifies two main factors: Factor 1 shows teachers possess a deep understanding and love for the Korean language, yet exhibit weaknesses in administration and evaluation. Factor 2 reveals strengths in intrinsic qualities and attitudes, but weaknesses in practical teaching skills and implementation. Furthermore, the study finds that these teachers recognize the importance of Korean language and culture education but lack confidence in these areas.
