커뮤니티 활성화가 주거지의 범죄 예방에 미치는 영향 : 동작구의 주민의식평가를 중심으로

Abstract

연구배경 본 연구는 커뮤니티 활성화와 지역 범죄 발생 현황의 연관성 파악과 주민의식 평가를 통해 범죄예방 효과의 가능성에 대한 시사점을 제공하고자 한다. 특히 범죄예방에 필요한 커뮤니티 특성과 커뮤니티 디자인 방향을 제시하여 쾌적하고 안전한 도시공간 창출에 기여하고자 한다. 연구방법 커뮤니티 디자인과 범죄예방 디자인의 정의 및 이론적 분석을 통하여 두 개념의 의미와 사회적 필요성을 밝히고 이 사이의 연관성을 도출한다. 사례조사로서 동작구의 상도4동, 대방동, 사당2동을 대상으로 해당 지역의 범죄예방과 커뮤니티의 현황을 파악하고, 대상 거주민을 대상으로 커뮤니티활성화와 범죄예방효과에 대한 설문 조사를 실시하고자 한다. 연구결과 연구의 결과 커뮤니티의 활성화가 범죄예방에 필요한 안전의식 강화와 지역연대감 강화에 기여하는 것으로 나타났으며, 이러한 안전 환경 조성을 위해서는 안전을 위한 민간, 관청, 경찰의 협력을 통한 예방시스템이 중요한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 지역의 공간과 커뮤니티 특성을 고려한 범죄예방디자인과 지속가능한 커뮤니티활동이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 결론 본 연구에서는 커뮤니티의 구성이 범죄예방 효과와 관련해 거주민들이 느끼는 심리적 만족도와 연관이 깊은 것으로 파악되었다. 그러나 이러한 결과가 보다 객관적이고 실효성을 가지기 위해서는 보다 다양한 유형의 대상지를 대상으로 한 주민 참여형 범죄예방디자인 과정에 대한 장기적 사례연구가 요구될 것이다. 본 연구가 커뮤니티의 발전을 기반으로 한 지속가능한 범죄예방디자인 발전에 기초적인 시사점을 제공할 수 있기를 기대한다.

Background This study is intended to provide the implications of potential effects of crime prevention by understanding the relationship between community revitalization and crime rates in residential areas. In particular, we would like to create comfortable and safe urban spaces by suggesting a guideline of crime-preventing characteristics and community design. Methods First, by analyzing theoretical studies of Community Design and Crime Prevention Design, we identified the meaning of these two concepts in relation to the needs of society. Second, as a case study, we targeted the communities of: Sangdo 4-dong, Daebang-dong, and Sadang 2-dong. By understanding the current physical state of the target areas and surveying the residents, we found a basis for the study. Results The research results show that community involvement contributes to strengthening the awareness of safety and regional solidarity for crime prevention. For creating safe environments, crime prevention systems enforced by the residents and authorities, along with cooperation from the police, is important. Also, crime prevention design which considers the characteristics of the local area and community, and sustainable community activities, are required. Conclusions In this study, we found that there is a deep connection between the community's composition and the resident population's psychological satisfaction from preventing crime. However, to validate the study, we need to conduct more long-term and varying case studies targeting various communities. We expect the current study to provide a basic foundation for developing sustainable crime prevention models based on community development.
