Abstract
The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of physical expression activities linked to forest activities on young children’s language ability, motor proficiency ability, and sense of self-esteem. Research was carried out for 4 weeks with 32 four-year-old children (16 in an experimental group; 16 in a comparison group) who attended a kindergarten in D city. The experimental group participated in the physical expression activity linked to forest activity, while the comparison group participated in the physical expression activity based on story books. Language ability, motor proficiency ability, and sense of self-esteem were tested before and after the program was applied. Data were analyzed by independent sample T (T-test), utilizing a program for SPSS 23 Window. The results revealed a statistically-significance difference between the post-test scores of the experimental and comparison group. In conclusion, it shows that the physical expression activities linked to forest activities is effective for promoting young children's language ability, motor proficiency ability, and sense of self-esteem.
