Abstract: This study aims to identify factors for preventing and improving ticket scalping in Korean professional baseball using Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) and to propose practical countermeasures. The research targeted adults who, within the past three months, had purchased or attempted to purchase tickets at inflated prices through secondary platforms. Importance and performance scores for anti-scalping measures were analyzed, and factors were plotted on the IPA matrix. Results show that spectators rated “system transparency and fairness” as the most important factor, while “on-site security and promotion” achieved the highest performance. The IPA matrix revealed that Quadrant I (high–high) included security system enhancement, additional ticket issuance, and ticket price ceilings. Quadrant II (high–low) comprised transaction transparency, expansion of official sales channels, stronger legal sanctions, relaxation of purchase limits, and scalper identification systems. Quadrants III and IV contained lower-priority or over-performed factors such as distribution systems, website blocking, publicity campaigns, and identity verification.

Abstract: Purpose: The purpose of this study is to conduct in-depth interviews with 14 sports majors who participated in a sports program for children with developmental disabilities, to deeply analyze their coaching experiences using grounded theory methods, and to develop a theoretical framework.
Method: The primary data for this study, which involved participants in a sports program for children with developmental disabilities, were collected through in-depth interviews conducted over approximately eight months, from April 1 to December 31, 2024, excluding the summer vacation period. Following the grounded theory analysis procedures of Strauss and Corbin (1990), domain and categorical analyses were conducted stepwise, focusing on the researcher’s diary-style notes, observational data, and in-depth interview transcripts.
Results: The causal conditions were found to be insufficient within this context, and the situational condition was identified as a qualitative challenge associated with program implementation. The central phenomenon emerged as the experiential process of growing pains in leadership development, while the mediating condition was characterized by the perception of change confronted by the barriers of reality.
In response, the interaction strategy involved problem-solving through iterative trial-and-error processes, ultimately leading to self-establishment and identity formation as leaders.
Conclusion: Throughout the grounded theory process, although sports majors initially faced challenges due to a lack of background knowledge and experience, they gradually overcame these challenges, developed a deeper understanding of children with developmental disabilities, and established themselves as leaders.
Special education programs would be more effective if they integrated both theory and practice.

Authors: 권재윤; 장원용
Abstract: Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the importance and satisfaction of consumer values during the purchase of sports merchandise, as well as to provide strategic directions for product development.
Method: Data were collected from adult consumers who had purchased sports merchandise within the past three months. An importance–performance analysis (IPA) was conducted to assess the significance of differences between importance and satisfaction. The IPA matrix was then applied to interpret the coordinates of each quadrant and derive the final results.
Results: The results showed that functional value (appropriate price) was rated as the most important attribute, while hedonic value (happiness derived from the purchase) ranked highest in terms of customer satisfaction. The IPA matrix indicated that attributes such as appropriate price, preferred color and shape, and first impression of attractiveness were located in Quadrant I (Keep up the good work). In contrast, Quadrant II (Concentrate here) included attributes like price–quality ratio, practicality, preferred style, limited edition, scarcity, convenience, and the possibility of being sold out. Quadrant III (Low priority) included novelty, the latest model, and trendy style, whereas Quadrant IV (Possible overkill) comprised future value appreciation, happiness from purchase, uniqueness of design, sophistication, joy of purchase, refreshment, and fun.
Conclusion: These findings contribute to the expansion of consumer value research and provide practical implications for developing consumer-oriented marketing strategies within the sports merchandise industry.

Authors: 장원용; 권재윤
Abstract: Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the importance and satisfaction levels addociated with various touchpoint experienced by K League 2 spectators, as well as to analyze the overall spectator journey using Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA).
Method: The study targeted adult spectators attending K League 2 professional football matches.
A purposive sampling method, which is a form of non-probability sampling, was used to select the participants. Data were analyzed using the IPA framework to assess the relative importance and satisfaction across various dimensions of stadium services.
Results: Spectators identified restroom conditions, including signage, cleanliness, and odor control, along with a stable supply of merchandise (MD) products, and comfortable seating as highly important factors. In contrast, they reported high satisfaction with entry and exit procedures, including quick access, a user-friendly ticketing system, and safe flow management upon exit.. The results of IPA revealed the following. 1) Quadrant I (high importance and high satisfaction) included the placement of trash bins at exits, management of restroom supplies (e.g., soap, waste bins, toilet paper, etc.), and a smooth and prompt exit procedures; 2) Quadrant II (high importance, low satisfaction) comprised restroom signage, humidity control, cleanliness, odor control, adequate supply of MD products, seating comfort, unobstructed walkways, reasonable prices and quality of MD products, and staff deployment to minimize inconvenience; 3) Quadrant III (low importance, low satisfaction) involved food taste and pricing, hygiene at food outlets, timely pickup of food orders, and the design and usability of MD products; and 4) Quadrant IV (low importance, high satisfaction) included convenient ticketing booths, secure exit guidance, and efficient, safe entry processes.
Conclusion: This study provides strategic insights into enhancing spectator satisfaction by improving key stadium services. Addressing low-performing yet important touchpoints can increase revisit intentions, ultimately contributing to the sustained growth and revenue generation of the K League 2.
