dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of 10-weeks progressive load combined exercise on body composition and bone mineral density to obese female college students. 26 female college students who had more than 30% body fat percentage were enrolled and randomly assigned to a progressive load combined exercise group(n=13) or a control group(n=13). In progressive load combined exercise group, subjects performed aerobic exercise and resistance exercise programs 3 times a week for 10 weeks and subjects continued everyday life without special physical activities in a control group. All the subjects had body composition and bone mineral density measured before and after exercise program. Statistical analysis was verified by two-way ANOVA with repeated measure and Paired t-test was carried out if there was interaction. As a result, progressive load combined exercise decreased weight, body fat mass, %body fat and BMI significantly(respectively p<.05). Furthermore, progressive load combined exercise increased bone mineral density significantly compared to before exercise program(p<.05). According to the result of this study, progressive load combined exercise program was effective on obesity management and bone health of obese female college students.-
