Not long ago, New York Times introduced ‘Jimjil-Bang (Korean Bathhouse)’ as the most impressed scene of modern culture in Korea (Kantor, 2014). The field of Urban Architecture emphasized importance of ‘Bang(Room)’ culture starts from Jimjil-‘Bang(Room)’, Norae-‘Bang(Karaoke Room)’, PC-‘Bang(Room)’, Game- ‘Bang(Room)’, Video-‘Bang(Room)’ and even to Ballae-‘Bang(Laundry Room)’. For example, the main theme of Korean exhibition in 2004 Venice Biennale was ‘A city of the Bang(Room)’. Through this exhibition, examined Urban Architectural and Sociocultural meaning of Bang culture in Korea which became the part of Korean Urban landscape. Whatever interpretations of those meanings, maybe common diagnosis of this phenomenon is related to ‘Apartment culture’ which exposes compressed modernization of Korea in abbreviation of Urban Architecture. In other words, apartments in Korea represent symbol of convenience, the means of investment and an ‘entry’ to middle class(Gelézeau, 2007; Jeon Sang In, 2009; Park cheol Su, 2006). And this destructed ‘territory’ of traditional houses and their spaces(Jeong Gi Yong, 2008:38,55). Due to this destruction, ‘Bang(Rooms)’ are scattered in the big city like Seoul including Seongnam in order to fulfil desire of sociality. Since we found a certain connectivity between the Public, Common(semi-public, semi-private) and Private space in our daily & public life boundary with analyzing location of 3 different Bangs in the original part of Seongnam City, we would find a solution to space allocation problems occurred in the city through proper arrangement and harmony for the city urban regeneration. with transferable new Common Space which we have been eager to create for our successors. © Research India Publications.-
