Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of swimming participant's achievement goal orientation and enjoyment on exercise addiction, and ultimately to provide the basic data on recreational swimmers and an opportunity to develop Sports-for-All. This study collected a total of 358 copies of questionnaires as its valid samples after giving out 430 copies of questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed through the SPSS Win Ver 18.0 statistical package program including frequency analysis, factor analysis, correlation analysis, t-test, One-way ANOVA, and multi-recurrence analysis. The results obtained from the above measures and procedures of this study are as follows. 1) There were partially significant differences in the variables of achievement goal orientation, enjoyment, and exercise addiction based upon demographic characteristics of swimming participants. 2) The achievement goal orientation of the swimming participants had a significant influence on exercise addiction. 3) The enjoyment of the swimming participants had a significant influence on exercise addiction. 4) The achievement goal orientation and enjoyment of the swimming participants had a significant influence on exercise addiction.
