Development of sensing and measurement technology contribute greatly to the expansion of application using sensor based DCV (Demand Controlled Ventilation). So, in this study, It made investigation current state and problems of ventilation system and prospected of the alternative ventilation system using sensor based DCV system in high-rise residential building. It was setting up various sensor based DCV strategies that they are CO2-DCV, TVOC-DCV, and IR(Infra-Red)-DCV for evaluation on characteristic of indoor contamination levels and analysis of energy consumption. As a result, sensor based DCV system is proper to maintain indoor air quality and to decrease outdoor air intake and energy consumption compare with 24 hour continuos ventilation system. CO2-DCV appropriate to control carbon dioxide concentration in the each zone but can not control TVOC concentration. TVOC-DCV can control TVOC concentration better then CO2-DCV but it appeared that period of CO2 concentration is high. IR-DCV have benefits to control CO2 concentration but can not control TVOC concentration during the vacant of occupant. And, the energy consumption decrease rate is approximately from 13 to 21 percent case by case basis by ventilation strategies for one year.-
