dc.description.abstract | This study aims to discuss the impact that using colorless transparent lenses has on image quality. Such impact was analyzed and evaluated based on the resolution and color changes that occurred due to having filter mounted to the equipment. Furthermore, the significance of coating, which is often advocated by filter makers, was analyzed. The results showed that the price of filters is not proportional to its value (changes in image quality). Also, another significant finding was that using filters resulted in worsened image quality. A coated filter is shown to have no direct impact on image quality. Because a filter is placed at the forefront of the lens and even if light is reflected, the reflected light rarely enters the interior of the lens, it can be said that image quality is not affected by coated filters. However, if UV light directly hits the filter, flare can occur thus it should be used with caution. | - |
