dc.description.abstract | BACKGROUND: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of 4-week balance and elastic band exercises on muscular strength and balance in leisure sports activity participants. METHODS: The subjects of study were recruited 20 males who activity sport for all club with at least three times the ankle sprain in the same area and less than 27 points in the cumberland ankle instability tool score, and were randomly divided into balance with elastic band exercise group (N.=10). control group (N.=10). This Exercise programs were carried out the biomechanical ankle platform system (BAPS) exercise and elastic band exercises, five times a week for 4-week. Before and after the exercise programs apply, perform the measurement of isokinetic muscular strength and static balance of the ankle joint. RESULTS: The results of this study, balance and elastic band (BE) exercise was significantly increased the muscular strength of the involved area in plantar flexion, dorsiflexion, eversion, inversion (respectively, P<0.05). Also, the BE exercise was significantly increased both the balance of the uninvolved and involved (respectively. P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: BE, exercises proved to be effective in improving muscular strength and balance as well. Therefore, it would be effective to perform the BE exercises concurrently, when you configure the ankle sprain rehabilitation program. | - |
