Abstract
Background/Objectives: In recent years, image-based 3D modeling techniques and systems have been improving rapidly. They are cost effective, portable and largely used for creating accurate 3D models. Methods/Statistical analysis: Structure-from-motion (SfM) is one of the most applied methods that have been implemented in many applications. In present study we evaluate a complete workflow through the recent and open source tools for 3D modeling using image-based technique to obtain a 3D model from real objects. Findings: We further identify and evaluate the factors that have an important impact on the quality of result. © 2018, Institute of Advanced Scientific Research, Inc. All rights reserved.
