- Abstract
- The objectives of this research are to explore the lifestyle dimensions of the elderly and to verify whether selected sociodemographic factors cause significant differences among their lifestyles and travel motivations. A total of 311 responses were collected with self-administered questionnaires that comprised 3 main sections: questions on lifestyle using 24 general activities, interests, and opinions (AIO) statements, 34 questions about travel motivations, and 8 basic questions about sociodemographic characteristics. The results revealed that sociodemographic characteristics, such as age, gender, marital status, education, health, and economic status, played a crucial role in explaining the difference in lifestyles and travel motivations of the elderly. This study provides insights that allow for better identification of Korean elderly travel market segments. © 2018 Taylor & Francis
