- Abstract
- There are some words written with Chinese characters in Sinsikbuinchigabeop. Why do these Chinese characters appear in this book which is written in Korean characters basically. Were there any unique attributes of these words? Had some Chinese characters of previous literature affected Sinsikbuinchigabeop? Otherwise, did these words belong to kinds of neologisms or nonce words at that time? In this paper, I research all words written with Chinese characters in Sinsikbuinchigabeop and review token frequency of all target words quantitatively. In addition, I observe how social position of these words was at the moment when Sinsikbuinchigabeop had been published, and describe elaborately how listedness of these words had been changed in dictionaries such as 2nd edition(1911) and 3rd edition(1931) of Hanyeongjadyeon by J. S. Gale, modified version(1940) of Joseoneosajeon by Mun Seyeong, and web version(2017) of Pyojungugeodaesajeon which is contemporary official dictionary by government.
