Non-toxic Cu2O@apoferritin was prepared by employing CuCl2 and apoferritin. The morphology and structure of Cu2O@apoferritin were investigated by HR-TEM and XRD. The size of Cu2O nanoparticle was 2.5 nm and it was found that the photoluminescence of Cu2O QD@apoferritin could be used as a sensor media for detection of dopamine. © 2017 The Japan Society of Applied Physics.-
