dc.description.abstract | Recently, road navigation services provide not only for vehicle driving but also for pedestrian walking. However, it isdifficult for such navigation services to provide useful information especially to people with walking problems such as the elderly,the disabled, stroller users, and so on. It is because they do not provide information on road conditions or walkingenvironments such as stairs, ramps, walking aids, and so on. In order to ensure safe walking for all pedestrians, a new smartwalking guidance app is necessary which is useful for people with walking problems. This study is to develop a smart walkingguidance app that can provide optimized walking paths and walking-related information considering various people with walkingproblems. The smart walking guidance app that we develop is mainly for the disabled, but it is expected to provide useful andcustomized information to any pedestrians. In this research, we analyzed the existing walking app and then built a novelinformation model capable of providing necessary information to any pedestrians. The information model is constructed bycombining basic map information, national public data, and detailed geographic and road information constructed by our pastpilot project. In this demonstration project, the detailed geographic road information was constructed only for the region ofYeouido, Seoul. | - |
