dc.description.abstractThe self-localization system of mobile phone has become a popular feature among the public, and the self-localization of phone relies on the phone's GPS system. Some errors do exist in mobile phone location system because of the reduction in the size of GPS receivers and the integration of GPS with mobile phones. This paper proposes a localization improvement algorithm for computing mobile phone position by using mobile phone images. The algorithm is composed of two major phases, namely computing two camera's relative position by matching two images and computing the camera's position according to the given camera's accurate position. The proposed algorithm has been implemented in a smartphone and the performance was evaluated. The evaluation result shows that the proposed algorithm has better performance than only using the mobile phone's GPS system. © 2016 International Information Institute.-
