dc.description.abstractIn this study, the MAC protocol, which improves the real-time characteristics of the network in the IoT environment, was designed and implemented. Moreover, the COOJA network simulator was used to simulate the traffic pattern in the IoT environment. The results showed that the proposed MAC protocol performed better by 55.03% for the uni-directional transmission, and by 53.16% for the bi-directional transmission. This verified that the MAC protocol improved the real-time characteristics of the network in the IoT environment. © 2016 International Information Institute.-
