Abstract
In recent years, global economy and division of labor are progressing simultaneously due to development of information and communication technology and development of transportation technology. Companies and nations are increasing their cost-cutting and customer-oriented services to secure competitiveness. In particular, most countries have designated special economic zones, such as free trade zones and free economic zones, to ensure national competitiveness. In this study, the factors necessary for the free economic zone to function as a logistics base were derived, and the effects of various factors on the performance of free economic zones were analyzed. Results revealed that logistics location accessibility, attracting logistics centers, logistics facilities factors such as free trade zone, and administrative support factors for operating these physical facilities are important determinants linking logistics hubs in free economic zones. These factors and the performance of the free economic zone indicate that some factors affect the performance of the free economic zone. However, for future research, it is necessary to study the perceptual difference of the linkage factors of logistics bases between free economic zones according to logistics characteristics.
