유능성과 조절초점을 기반으로 한 정서와 동기적 행동의 예측

Abstract

We investigated the relationship between competence, regulatory focus, emotion, and effort behavior. Participants were 200 athletes belonging to the Korea Shooting Federation. Perceived competence in competitive sport situations was assessed, while regulatory focus was assessed using the Korean version of the Regulatory Focus Questionnaire. Emotion and motivational behavior were assessed with a scale based on the Differential Emotions Scale-IV and the effort/importance factor of the Intrinsic Motivation Inventory, respectively. Also, we conducted the path analysis and structural equation modeling. Competence was found to predict promotion focus and positive emotion, which in turn predicted effort behavior. Additionally, there were differences in research models according to performance and the degree of success and failure in competitions. Our results confirmed the theoretical model of regulatory focus proposed by Higgins(1998). Furthermore, a causal relationship between promotion focus and effort behavior via positive emotion was revealed.
