NOW ACCEPTING PAPERS
The purpose of Conservation Genetics Resources is to promote the conservation of genetic diversity and advance the study of conservation genetics by providing rapid publication of technical papers and reviews on methodological innovations or improvements, computer programmes, and genomic resources, as well as on the practical application of these resources towards the development of effective conservation policy and practice. The journal publishes primer notes, other genomic resources (e.g. SNP markers), methodological papers, computer package descriptions, technical review papers and application essays.
The broad objectives of the journal are to:
/// promote the development and application of resources for the conservation of genetic diversity
/// focus on the problems and species which are of concern to conservation biologists and managers
/// provide a forum for exchanging resources which support research in conservation genetics
/// provide a forum for reporting on the practical incorporation of genetic data into the development of management practice and conservation policy
Resources
The journal will focus on the rapid publication of technical papers on methodological innovations or improvements, computer programs, and genomic resources such as novel microsatellite loci and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). Technical papers in support of conservation genetic work focus on the problems and species that are of concern to conservation biologists and managers.
Applications
The journal will publish, when available, reports of the practical application of genetic data in the development of management practice or governmental conservation policy. These essays will describe the process involved in the successful implementation of policy based on conservation genetic research and highlight problems encountered, and solutions found, to address those problems.
