dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the applicability of ultrasonic atomization for a regenerator in a liquid desiccant system. To compare the energy consumption under various inlet air and solution temperature, the suitable droplet size of the solution which has high regeneration performance is calculated. The droplet size of the solution is selected from 30 to 100 μm, and the simulation results indicate that the droplet size decreases as the inlet air temperature increases. The results also show that the solution heating is more beneficial than the air heating under the cases showing the similar regeneration performance (i.e., case 1, 6, and 8). Therefore, the high solution temperature to enter the regenerator has energy saving potential to applicate the ultrasonic atomization for a regenerator in a liquid desiccant system although it is hard to use a small droplet size of the solution.-
