dc.description.abstractIn this paper, we will reformulate Kumaravadivelu (2012) and attempt to sketch a model of 21st C competencies for English teachers so that the yungbokhap educational approach can be extended to programs preparing English teachers. As a matter of process, first in section two, we will attempt to answer the questions: What competencies will English teachers need in this era of globalization and multi-cultural situations? Then in section three, we will briefly discuss two batches of such competencies: creative and critical thinking competencies, as a bridge to the micro-level of English teacher education. And in section four, we will discuss cases of English linguistics courses as potential answers to the next question of how the competencies can be best fostered at the micro-level of college instruction. Then, finally, in section five, we will wrap up the discussions with some educational implications.-
