The Korean Institute of Communications and InformationSciences (KICS), which is the largest information andcommunication technology institute in Korea, has been activein working towards development and standardization of mobilecommunication technology. In response to the need to meetupcoming 6G technical challenges in innovative applications suchas hologram telepresence, extended reality (XR), digital twin, and connected robotics, the KICS 6G research initiative (KICS6GRI) group has been created to establish a vision for key6G technologies and identify research trends and directions. This article, therefore, covers major performance indicatorsand requirements envisioned by the KICS. In addition, weprovide a comprehensive discussion of various candidate 6Gtechnologies including (sub-)terahertz (THz), intelligent reflectingsurface (IRS), artificial intelligence (AI)-based techniques, andnon-terrestrial network (NTN).-
