부정 접두사의 결합 양상과 의미에 대한 제약 기반적 접근

Abstract

본 연구는 한자어 부정 접두사 ‘몰(沒)-, 무(無)-, 미(未)-, 불/부(不)-, 비(非)-’의 결합 양상과 의미를 제약에 기반해서 살펴보았다. ‘부정’이라는 의미를 가지는 접두사는 어근과의 결합에서 배타적인 분포를 보이는데 이때 각 접두사의 분포에서 보이는 특성과 의미를 고려하여 제약을 제시했고 그 등급 관계를 고려해서 실제의 사용 양상과 앞으로의 방향까지 함께 고찰하였다. 어근과의 결합 관계를 통해서 [-상태성, +동작성], [+상태성, -동작성], [-상태성, -동작성]이라는 제약을 제시했고, 부정 접두사 자체의 의미를 고려하여 [+없음], [+아님], [+어긋남], [+강조], [-완성]이라는 제약을 제시했다. 이들 사이의 관계는 처음에는 실제 쓰임을 고려하지 않았으나 나중에 그 치환관계를 반영하여 다음과 같은 등급까지 제시하였다. 이 등급은 제약 기반 이론인 최적성이론의 조건을 고려한 것은 아니고 이론적 접근과 실제적 쓰임 사이의 균형을 염두에 두고 제안한 것이다.

이를 토대로 최근 문제가 되고 있는 ‘미혼, 비혼’ 사이의 관계도 설명하였다. ‘미혼’과 ‘비혼’은 제약 관계를 토대로 했을 때 서로 다른 것이고, ‘비혼’도 아직은 등재하기에 어렵다는 판단을 하였다. 다만 언어는 계속 변화하고 있기 때문에 실제 쓰임에 따라서 등재 여부는 계속 논의를 해야 한다고 생각한다.

This study examines the pattern and meaning of combinations of negative prefixes ‘mol(沒)-, mu(無)-, mi(未)-, bul/bu(不)-, bi(非)-’ in Chinese characters based on constraints will be. The relationship between them was not taken into consideration at first, but it was reflected later and even the following ranking were presented. This ranking was proposed with the balance between theoretical approach and practical application in mind, not considering the conditions of optimality theory, a constraint-based theory.

Based on this, the relationship between ‘single and unmarried’, which has become a problem recently, was also explained. ‘Single’ and ‘unmarried’ are different from each other based on the constraint relationship, and it was judged that ‘unmarried’ is still difficult to register. However, since the language is constantly changing, I think it is necessary to continue discussing whether to register it according to its actual use.
