Abstract
The generalization of kinship terms refers to the use of kinshipappllations to address non-relative members of society or other things. The generalization of kinship terms often presents inconsistent patterns in differeent stages of social development. It not only reflects people's occasional usage habits and preferences, but also mirrors certain cultural and social factors that behind the generalization. This article takes 155 new words included in the 2008-2020 "Report on the Status of Chinese Language Life" that reflect the generalization of kinship terms as the reseaerch objects, and establishes data from multiple dimensions, such as the object of reference, frequency of use, andsemantic color. Based on this data, we will conduct exhaustive analysis and research from two levels, synchronically and diachronically, in order to understand and unearth the deep-seated causes of the generalization of these kinship titles, and to have a glimpse of the phenomenon reflected sociey changes in China in the past 10 years.
