비자살적 자해 청소년 상담에서의 상담자 개입 경험에 관한 질적 연구

Abstract

청소년의 비자살적 자해 문제가 사회적 문제로 부각되고 있는 상황을 반영하여, 본 연구에서는 비자살적 자해 청소년과의 상담을 성공적으로 진행한 상담자들의 경험을 탐색하였다. 이를 위하여 최근 1년 이내에 비자살적 자해 청소년을 상담을 정상적으로 종결한 경험이 있는 상담자 8명을 눈덩이 표집 방법으로 모집하여 심층면담을 실시하였다. 연구 참여자들이 경험한 비자살적 자해 상담에 대해 진술한 자료를 바탕으로 그들의 경험을 심층적으로 이해하기 위하여 Giorgi의 현상학적 연구 방법으로 분석한 결과, 4개의 상위 범주와 21개의 범주, 53개의 의미 단위를 도출하였다. 연구 참여자들은 내담자 진단 및 평가 방법, 효과적으로 작용했던 상담 개입과 상담의 방해 요인에 대해 진술하였으며, 자해 청소년 상담 시 고려 사항에 대해서도 언급하였다. 연구 결과에 기초하여 논의를 진행하고 시사점을 제언하였다.

Given that adolescent self-injury has become a widespread societal problem, this study qualitatively examined the experiences of counselors who successfully worked with non-suicidal self-injured adolescents. For this purpose, in-depth individual interviews were conducted with eight counselors who had treated such adolescents within a year prior to the the interview. Participants were recruited using the snowball method. Data were analyzed by the Giorgi phenomenological research method. As a result, 4 top categories, 21 categories, and 53 semantic units were derived. Participants disc;osed methods of diagnosis and evaluation, factors that interrupted counseling, and interventions that worked effectively. In addition, they shared their experiential knowledge about the factors that should be taken into account when counseling non-suicidal self-injury adolescents. Based on the findings, implications and limitations of this study were discussed.
