지역 불평등과 사회적 자본의 분포특성 및 상관관계 분석 - 서울시 권역생활권 및 자치구를 중심으로 -

Abstract

불평등 심화가 사회적 자본에 부정적인 영향을 미친다는 연구가 서구에서 활발히 진행되고 있으나, 국내 도시를 대상으로 한 연구는 미비하고 서울시 불평등 현상은 심화되고 있다. 이 연구의 목적은 서울서베이 데이터를 통해 지역 불평등과 사회적 자본과의 분포특성과 상관성을 분석하는 데 있다. 생활권별로 소득･계층인식･주택가격 불평등 지수를 도출하고 위계선형모형을 통해 사회적 자본과의 영향관계를 분석했다. 주요 연구의 결과는 첫째, 자치구 단위의 지역 불평등과 사회적 자본은 통계적으로 유의한 음의 관계를 맺고 있었다. 둘째, 지역 불평등 변수 중 소득 불평등, 계층인식 불평등, 주택가격 불평등 모두 사회적 자본에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 개인 특성과 관련해서는 성별, 학력은 음의 방향으로 소득, 삶의 만족도, 서울 거주 개월, 현주소지 거주 개월은 양의 방향으로 사회적 자본에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 결과적으로 소득 불평등, 계층인식 불평등, 주택 불평등이 심할수록 사회적 자본은 낮은 것으로 확인되었다. 기존 선행연구와 달리 이 연구 결과 계층인식과 주택 불평등 또한 사회적 자본에 부정적이기 때문에 사회적 자본 증진을 위한 정책은 소득, 계층, 주택가격의 격차가 종합적으로 고려될 필요가 있다.

Although studies that negatively affect social capital as a negative phenomenon of inequality are being actively conducted in the West, research on domestic cities is insufficient, and the inequality phenomenon in Seoul is intensifying. This study aims to analyze regional distribution characteristics and correlations between regional inequality and social capital using Seoul Survey data. We derived income inequality, class perception inequality, and housing inequality index for each living area and analyzed it with social capital through hierarchical linear Model. The results of the study are as follows. First, there was a statistically significant negative relationship between regional inequality and social capital at the districts(Gu) level. Second, it was confirmed that income inequality, class recognition inequality, and housing price inequality among local inequality variables all had a negative effect on the reduction of social capital. Third, regarding individual characteristics, it was analyzed that the higher the age, income, life satisfaction, months of residence in Seoul, and months of current residence excluding gender and education, the more positive the social capital formation. As a result, it was confirmed that the more severe income inequality, class perception inequality, and housing inequality, the lower the social capital.
