| dc.description.abstract | This study aims to estimate the performance of vacuum-based membrane dehumidifier and investigate the system characteristics by experimental study. The performance of the system was evaluated by inlet/outlet humidity ratio difference with 4 independent parameters: air temperature, humidity ratio, airflow rate, and membrane type. The parametric study was designed for 27 experiment sets based on 3 levels of independent parameters. The results showed that the inlet/outlet humidity ratio difference of each membrane type was 4.5 g/kg to 18.9 g/kg (Type 1), 5.5 g/kg to 19.1 g/kg (Type 2), and 6.2 to 20.2 g/kg (Type 3). Evaluating from 3 levels of the parametric study, the air temperature and humidity ratio have a positive collection with inlet/outlet humidity ratio difference, and the air flowrate has a negative collection with inlet/outlet humidity ratio difference. The dehumidification performance of the membrane type where the surface area increase is applied was improved by about 21%. In future research, we intend to establish the operation mode of the system and develop for system design, based on the experimental results. | - |
