dc.description.abstractThis study proposes the thermoelectric radiant cooling panel integrated with phase change material (PCM–TERCP). Thermal behavior characteristics and performance of the proposed panel were experimentally analyzed in design conditions. PCM–TERCP has two operation mode; one is a passive cooling mod and the other is an active cooling mode. Thermoelectric modules operate to freeze the PCM during the active cooling mode, and PCM stores the cooling thermal energy to maintain the constant surface temperature of the panel for radiant cooling during the passive cooling mode. As a results, PCM–TERCP showed 32 – 52W/m2 cooling capacity during the both modes and consumed 20 - 40 W/module electrical energy. In a further study, the design of the PCM container and operation strategy need to be optimized to increase the efficiency of the PCM–TERCP system.-
