활동 기반 오피스의 공간적 특성에 관한 연구

Abstract

Nowadays, ABW (Activity Based work) environment becomes more popular as one of spatial concepts to effectively support New Ways of Working. Many organizations adopt ABW environment because it improves user satisfaction and productivity and save maintenance costs reducing office area. However, whether an adoption of ABW environment actually drives intended positive effects for organizations and users has yet to be verified. Accordingly, many studies have been conducted about ABW environment, in particular, most of the previous studies focused on verifying the concept"s purpose and its impacts on users and organizations rather than the spatial characteristics of the concept. However, an ABW environment basically drives intended positive effects through changes of physical space. Therefore, for the successful ABW environment, studies about the spatial characteristics of the concept are required. Thus, this study aims to analyze spatial characteristic of ABW environment, particularly, in the respect of purposes of the concept. For the analysis, the purposes of ABW environment were studied based on review of previous studies and case studies of ABW environment offices were carried out. As a result, five spatial characteristics of ABW environment that have relation with purposes of the concept were extracted.
