맞벌이 가구의 시간배분에 관한 분석

Abstract

본 연구는 2014년 노동패널 ‘시간활용 및 삶의 질’ 부가자료를 이용하여 맞벌이 가구의 비임금 활동 시간배분 결정요인을 분석하였다. 특히 부부간 협상력이 시간배분에 미치는 영향을 중점적으로 분석한 결과 가구 내 여성의 협상력은 부부간 육아시간에 주로 영향을 미치는 반면 남성의 주말 여가시간을 제외하면 다른 시간배분에는 유의미한 영향이 없는 것을 발견하였다. 아내의 임금이 올라갈수록 남편과 본인의 육아시간이 늘어나고 아내의 협상력이 높아질수록 남편과 본인의 육아시간은 감소하였다. 또한 남성의 주말 여가시간은 본인의 임금이 높을수록, 그리고 아내의 협상력이 높아질수록 줄어드는 것으로 나타났다.

This study examines the determinants of dual-earner couples’ time allocation to unpaid activities with a focus on the role of bargaining power, using 2014 Korean Labor & Income Panel Study supplements on time use. The results show that wife’s bargaining power, proxied by the logged relative wage of the wife, affects time devoted to childcare and the husband’s weekend leisure, while it has little effect on other time use. The wife’s wage has a positive impact on the wife’s and the husband’s time devoted to childcare, while the wife’s bargaining power has a negative effect. We also find that both husband’s own wage and the wife’s bargaining power have negative effects on the husband’s weekend leisure.
