Abstract
In general, it is known that street outdoor advertising is required to build an integrated image and implement a detailed design to secure the identity of the area. In many places, outdoor advertisement design is proceeding to create a local identity. Samcheong-dong, nowaday known as Seoul 's representative historical and cultural street and specialized cultural consumption space, has been formed by chaging the identity of the region in accordance with the changes of the times, and the chage is more dramatic than other regions. The street view also has such a pattern of chage. Samcheong-dong, which has a typical life-style space, had been transformed into a multi-cultural space with the '2007 Seoul City Center Reconstruction Project' and '2010 Seoul Design Street Project'. The purpose of this study in investigate how the location of the street, which is differentiation and uniqueness of the region, affect to outdoor advertisement through its changing history. When a cleaar location is created in the future, the outdoor advertising material is expected to convey the implications of the study as to which direction it moves toward enhancing the local value.
