dc.description.abstractThe vertical axis wind turbine is widely used in the world. In this paper, the analytical model of a vertical axis wind turbine was developed by considering the coupling effects among shaft bending, shaft torsion, shaft shear and arm bending. A shaft was applied to the Timoshenko beam theory and an arm was applied to the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory. Disk was assumed to the rigid body and blade was assumed to the tip mass. Then, natural frequencies of the system are obtained with the assumed mode method.-
