dc.description.abstractVehicle seats are one of the important components affecting dynamic comfort cognized by a passenger. To analyze dynamic characteristic of a seat for vehicles operating on various road conditions, the seat vibration from road irregularity should be understood and compared. It is necessary to study the relationship between evaluation of vibrating seat comfort and seat dynamic properties. In this study, we investigated seat properties by modeling supporting mechanism as distributed springs. The dynamic characteristics were analyzed by measuring the distributed stiffness from vibrations transferred through seats. Subjective evaluations for stiff, heavy, elasticity, balance observed by a person on a vibrating seats were used to estimate overall and specific dynamic comfort of the seats. The effects of support properties on the subjective evaluation was analyzed using statistical analysis.-
