dc.description.abstractThis study was conducted to evaluate primary energy savings for a desiccant-enhanced evaporative (DEVap) air-conditioning system with proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) and applicability of PEMFC supplying power and heat to meet air-conditioning system demands compared with conventional variable air volume (VAV) air-conditioning system. DEVap is newly introduced system independently operating liquid desiccant and regenerative indirect evaporative cooler depending on sensible and laten loads. Heat energy is need to regenerate diluted liquid desiccant. In this study, PEMFC generates power and heat simultaneously, and thus fuel cell is applied to both systems requiring power and heat. As a result, DEVap with PEMFC showed about 30.5% annual primary energy savings and high applicability.-
