In this paper, an algebraic equation related to the maximum first dimensionless natural frequency of the functionally graded material (FGM) blade was proposed. The equation was obtained from the structural dynamic model of FGM blade derived using the Rayleigh Ritz method. To validate the derived equations, natural frequencies of the same blade systems modeled in a commercial software ANSYS are compared to those of the proposed model. From the obtained equation, one can establish the relation between Young’s modulus ratio and volume fraction index for maximizing the first dimensionless natural frequency.-
