Abstract
In this study, Magnetic-Cored Dendrimers (MCD) terminalized with amine groups were synthesized, characterized, and investigated to adsorb lead, cadmium and nickel ions from aqueous solutions. Magnetic core was synthesized by co-precipitation method using ferric(Ⅲ)chloride, ferrous (Ⅱ)sulphate, ammonium hydroxide with rapid stirring for 30min at 80℃. Generation 0 dendrimer was synthesized using prepared magnetic core and 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane with rapid stirring for 7hr at 60℃. Generation 1 dendrimer was synthesized by adding methyl acrylate and ethylenediamine to generation 0 dendrimer in sequence with stirring for 7hr at room temperature. Characterization of synthesized MCDs was performed with X-Ray Diffractometer (XRD, SmartLab, Rigaku, Japan), Fourier Transform-Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR, UATR Two, PerkinElmer, USA) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM, JEM 2100F, JEOL, USA). The metal concentration was analyzed by Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP, ICP-OES, PerkinElmer, USA).
