dc.description.abstractThis study investigates the effects of absorption characteristics of interior materials on speech pri-vacy distance in high-speed trains. For the evaluation of speech privacy, a 1:10 scale model was used to reproduce room acoustical conditions in passenger cars on the basis of in-situ measurement data. The influences of absorption power of interior materials on privacy distance (rP) were inves-tigated, and the results were shown that rP decreased by the absorption power increasing. Thus, acoustical treatments on interior material could enhance the speech privacy in high-speed train passenger cars.-
