dc.description.abstractLinear and nonlinear response history analyses (RHA) of structures require to select an accurate set of ground motions. Recently, aMonte-Carlo simulation-based algorithm for selecting ground motions were developed. This study evaluated the accuracy and efficiency ofexisted algorithms for selecting ground motions. Nonlinear RHA of a 20-story steel moment-resisting frame was conducted using the threesets of ground motions which were selected using different algorithms. The results demonstrated the nonlinear seismic response of the framesvary according to ground motion sets with different correlation structures.-
