| dc.description.abstract | Noise is added to the image during image acquisition or transmission. The noise causes degradation of image quality due to loss of information. Gaussian noise is representative type of noise. Wiener filer is used to eliminate Gaussian noise. Conventional Wiener filter sometimes cannot remove noise effectively in flat regions due to the properties that preserve edges. In this paper, we propose a Wiener filter using edge detection to eliminate the noise effectively in flat region. Experimental results indicate the proposed algorithm shows better noise reduction performance than the conventional wiener filter. | - |
