| dc.description.abstract | Solid state drives (SSDs) have higher bandwidth and lower access latency than hard disk drives (HDDs). Therefore, SSDs have been rapidly replacing HDDs. Many SSD manufactures produce their own SSDs. However, they do not open their SSD architecture and control firmware. As a result it is necessary to compare and analyze the performance of different kind of SSDs. A benchmark is used to analyze the storage device's performance. However, most benchmarks are targeted at HDDs. In this paper, we exploit the uFLIP benchmark which reflects flash device characteristics to analyze the SSD performance. Through this process, we have identified common SSD characteristics. Also, we have confirmed that a particular SSD shows strength at some situations. | - |
