This paper presents a 2-dimensional FFT (fast fourier transform) scheme for the automotive radars using the fast-ramp FMCW (frequency modulated continuous wave) signal. The automotive radars often use the FMCW signal with the fast-ramps train method because it detects and resolves the range and velocity of targets without ambiguity. In this paper, we derive parameters of the FMCW signal with the fast-ramps train method. Also we determine parameters for a specific automotive radar. Computer simulation using MATLAB shows that the 2D FFT scheme resolves multi-target situation and detects range, velocity without ambiguity.-
