Abstract
Participating in leisure activities is helpful for people to refresh their lives and relieve their stress. Furthermore, many studies of leisure satisfaction have shown that enjoying leisure activities can improve the quality of life. For this reason, a lot of studies of leisure have been conducted so far. The frequency of leisure participation is known as the factor that effects on leisure satisfaction. However, previous studies have focused on objective frequency which can be shown by precise figures. Thus, they could not measure exactly the satisfaction which is a subjective variable. Dissimilar to previous studies, this study uses two concepts, objective frequency and perceived frequency, to analyze the relationship between frequency of leisure participation and satisfaction. The survey is carried out targeting the people with disabilities, and study results shows that the factor which effects on leisure satisfaction is not the objective frequency but the perceived frequency. Based on the results of this study, this article indicates not only theoretical implications, but also practical implication of establishing welfare policies to encourage the people with disabilities to participate in leisure activities.
