Five different aminosilicon-based softeners were prepared by ultrahigh-pressure homogenisation, and changes in their particle sizes and spectroscopic properties were investigated. Moreover, the yellowing characteristics and mechanical properties of cotton fabrics treated with the homogenised softeners were determined. Homogenisation significantly decreased the average particle sizes and particle size distribution without destroying the micelles. In particular, from the results on changes in the whiteness and yellowness of a cotton fabric treated with a silicon-based softener, it was confirmed that homogenisation suppresses the yellowing of the fabrics.-
