dc.description.abstractSpecial purpose vehicles are designed to be used for various purposes such as public or leisure. In this paper, we propose design review procedure and design optimization for leaf spring of special purpose vehicle. The special purpose vehicle used in this research is prone to consistent occurrence of leaf spring failure while in operating. The maximum load applied to leaf spring is obtained using finite element analysis (FEA) of vehicle frame with consideration of the drive conditions. Also, for validation of FE model, we compare with previous research contains physical experiment and FEA results. Finally, we select design variables considering length, breadth and thickness of leaf spring and proceed with design optimization for improved proposal.-
