학부 미시경제학 교과서의 일반균형이론에 대한 분석- 목차상 위치 및 내용을 중심으로

Abstract

본 논문은 학부 과정의 중급미시경제학 내용 중 일반균형이론에 초점을 맞추어 각종 교과서를 비교분석하고 함의 및 개선방안을 도출한다. 대부분의 교과서에서 일반균형이론은 시장조직이론에 대한 소개 이후 후생경제학에 관한 주요 주제로 소개된다. 한편 주로 최근에 발간된 교과서 중에는 일반균형이론을 완전경쟁 바로 다음에 소개하는 새로운 구성방식을 취하고 있는 책들도 있다. 본 논문은 각 구성이 유의미한 차이점을 가진다고 보고, 양 방식의 장단점을 자세하게 분석한 후 어느 방식을 취하든 그에 따른 잠재적 문제점을 보완할 수 있는 방안에 대해 논의한다. 또한 많은 교과서에서 일반균형이론 소개 시 바로 순수교환경제를 도입하여 설명하는 방식이 학생들에게 어려움을 야기할 수 있음을 지적하고, 몇몇 교과서의 사례를 들어 개선방안을 논의한다.

This paper focuses on general equilibrium theory in the undergraduate microeconomics course and derives some implications and suggestions by comparing and analyzing various textbooks. Most microeconomics textbooks introduce general equilibrium theory after the discussion of market organization. But in some textbooks, recently published ones in particular, general equilibrium theory appears as part of the perfectly competitive market. Noticing the significant difference between these two arrangements in several aspects, this paper highlights the merits and demerits of each method and discusses ways to make up for the potential weakness of each. This paper also argues that discussing pure exchange economy without any motivating examples or preliminary discussions may hamper students' understanding of the topic and presents some examples from some textbooks that may serve as a reference.
