dc.description.abstractIn this paper, a modified Alford loop antenna is proposed for WBAN on-body devices. On-body communication devices require low profile structure to be embedded in a human body. Higher mode microstrip patch antennas, previously proposed, have relatively tick thickness. To overcome this problem, the Alford loop antenna structure is modified, accordingly. As a result, the proposed antenna has ultra-thin thickness and generates surface wave along the body surface.-
