dc.description.abstractIn this paper, we propose a new demosaicing method, which has the improved edge detection method and the refinement scheme. The proposed method finds the interpolation direction based on the directional variances, and then interpolates the missing green components. The missing red and blue components are populated with the use of the fully interpolated green components and color differences. According to the edge direction, two or six neighboring pixels are used to interpolate the red and blue channels. A full colored image, after that, is refined by using median filter with 5×5 cross-shaped kernel. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm provides a better demosaiced image with relatively low computational complexity.-
