This research presents a method to analyzemagnetically induced vibration of a rotor in an IPM motorconsidering excitation of radial, tangential, and axial magneticforces and gyroscopic effect. The magnetic forces are calculatedby using the Maxwell stress tensor method, and the vibrations ofa rotor excited by the magnetic forces acting on rotor poles arenumerically analyzed by using the mode superposition method. Also, this research shows that the magnetic forces on rotor polesare multiples of both slot harmonics and half of slot harmonicsdue to winding pattern. This research introduces thecharacteristics of magnetic forces acting on a rotor pole and theconcrete methodology to analyze magnetically induced vibrationof a rotor excited by magnetic forces.-
