dc.description.abstractA partial-forward scheme for the half-duplex relay system is proposed, which transmits only a part of codewords by considering code and channel characteristics at the relay. Specifically, two partial cooperation schemes, decode-and-partial-forward and amplify-and-partial-forward schemes are considered and to overcome the shortcomings of these schemes an adaptive partial-forward scheme is proposed which can be flexibly applied according to the given environment. Also, the criteria on how to select a part of the codeword bits at the relay are derived. Furthermore, the optimisation of the time-division parameters to obtain the performance improvement is investigated.-
